On May 22, 1990, Microsoft released their new version windows 3.0. In 1991 they released windows 3.1. They sold 10 millions of the copies within first two years. At that time this was the most widely used operating system. Program manager, file manager and print manager were introduced with this system.
The popularity of windows 3.0 was increased with the introduction of a new windows software development kit (SDK).It was more focused on writing programs and less on writing device drivers. The usage of computers at homes and offices was increased in that time. While this is going on July 27, 1993 Microsoft released Windows NT system which was a 32 bit system that supports high-end engineering and scientific programs.
